The Railroad Days in Brea Downtown has been completed with tremendous attendance of rail fans of all ages. There was a large display of all things railroad with over 50 participating organizations joining the Southern California Railway Plaza Association to put together one of the largest events in Brea during the past year.
Featured this year was a new Union Pacific a low-emitting Genset switching engine. Transporting long lines of guests to the tracks were the Brea Trolleys sponsored by Chevron
Taking the display spotlight again this year was the 1902 American Horse-Drawn Steam Fire Engine with blaze the fire dog. The engine was sponsored by the California State Firefighter’s Association.

For the kids there was a free riding train, games, and trains to play with and operate
Large display tents, outdoor Garden Layout, and the indoor LEGO Train layout contained over 10,000 square feet of operating model railroads ranging from the tiniest Z-scale to large G-Scale Garden railroads.
Additional tents and indoor space contained SCRPA exhibits including the School children’s poster contest, the Historical & Modeling committee, the Southern California Railroad Experience, and the Southern California Scenic Railway Association.
Numerous vendors were on hand to supply the guests with clothing, videos, model Railroad supplies, souvenirs and of course, kids toys, games, and books.
Many thanks go out to our sponsors and participants including the City of Brea’s many departments, The Orange County Register, Union Pacific, United Sports Agency, Chevron Products and all the SCRPA volunteers
